I am less a Guitar player than a musician letting the music flow through me while using the Guitar for that purpose. I have been given the opportunity to deliver the message to others with a voice of my own. As a native of Western New York, I was fortunate to be in an exciting place and time for music. In the 1950's and early 60's there were great Guitar players such as Tommy Tedesco, Charlie Chiarenza, Vince Brundo, Charlie Rodriquez and many others that were a major influence during my formative years as a musician. I started out as a drummer in 1962 and practiced until I drove my parents nuts. However, at the time I had only a chair, a book and a pair of sticks. Playing the drums taught me how to be a good follower as well as wanting more musical expression which developed a love for the Guitar. I find joy in music and want to share with anyone who is willing to listen. As an unaccompanied performer I take total responsibility for my art...
Carl Fosseen -- Jazz Guitar
Charleston, South Carolina
"Timeless Music from the past, recreated with a fresh melodic approach". There is no better music than the music of the 1930's 40's and 50's. When played on Guitar, the music takes on a new life. The 1950's were the "Golden-Age" of Jazz Guitar with its great players such as Johnny Smith, Tal Farlow, Jimmy Raney and Billy Bauer. I present my interpretation of this great music in the spirit of these players.
